Surfing Witchs Rock and Ollie's Point offers world-renowned surf. There are huge waves at 3m (10 ft) with a mix of sand and rocks at the bottom. These waves are serious and this spot is not recommended for beginners. Other dangers include rocks and crocodiles during the tide change.

Witch's Rock is well known for its fast hollow rights. However, when the swells are smaller the lefts are good. Surfing is best during high tide.

Located in a Santa Rosa National Park, Playa Naranjo is hard to reach but there is public transport to the main park entrance. You can get here with a vehicle and best to rent 4WD during the wet season.

Stay at the research station with advanced reservations in an eight-bed bunkroom with cold-showers. You can get meals but must make arrangement the day before. Otherwise there's camping close to the park headquarters where there are picnic tables, flushing toilets and cold-water showers are located.

Ollie's Point is named after U.S. Colonel Oliver North. Near the break is an old airstrip that was used by U.S. airplanes to smuggle goods to the Nicaraguan Contras in the 1980s.

There is a surf camp at Playas del Coco which is nearby but still a boat ride away.
