Montezuma Waterfalls are located just south of town, about a 20-minute walk from town. The three scenic Montezuma waterfalls give travelers a chance to relax and enjoy a swimming hole. Please note that the first swimming hole is shallow and rocky. It is not suited to diving, while many visitors do dive from the second waterfall. However, there have been deaths and a warning sign cautions visitors from doing this.

To get to the second waterfall, continue on the trail. The leap is about 10m (33ft) up the trail. Attempting to scale the falls is highly dangerous. The rocks are slippery.

To see the third waterfall, continue up the trail past the launching point to dive into waterfall number two. There's a rope swing fro dropping into the deeper part of the hole, but don't dive from above. It is dangerous.

Follow the main Montezuma road south and out of town. The trailhead is located on the right just beyond the Hotel La Cascada, past the bridge. There is a clearly marked parking area and an entrance fee is due, approx. US$2.50.

Montezuma Costa Rica Villa Rentals are available. There are a few quality homes to choose from. These villas are beachfront and offer luxurious amenities.
