Montezuma Costa Rica used to be a laid-back hippie travel destination that required an effort to reach. It's still a charming village but it is no longer a hippie-only destination.

  • Horseback riding to the same conservation area.
  • Biking trips can be arrange through tour operators.
  • ATVing is also available.
  • Relaxing in the swimming hole of a gorgeous waterfall

The Montezuma Waterfalls are located just south of town, about a 20-minute walk from town. These falls make a terrific day excursion and are the perfect tropical retreat. Be sure to spend some time enjoying these swimming holes. There is an entrance fee associated with the falls.
