A 10-day trip that highlights family-friendly travel activities and fun things for the kids. This trip begins in San Jose and explores the central valley with a short excursion to the beach.

• Day 1: San Jose. Arrive in San Jose and transfer to a hotel
• Day 2: La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Drive to La Paz Waterfall Gardens and give your family time to hike to the waterfall. If night hikes interest you, head to Selva Verde and overnight there.
• Day 3: Rio Sarapiqui & Braulio Carrillo National Park. Before leaving the area, take a boat tour of the Rio Sarapiqui. After the tour, travel to the Rainforest Aerial Tram where the kids will get a chance to see wildlife from the canopy of the forest. Return to San Jose to overnight.
• Day 4: Zoo Ave & World of Snakes. Explore the zoo with the kids then head to the private Los Angeles Cloud Forest Reserve to spend the night.
• Day 5: Tamarindo. Before leaving the cloud forest, be sure to take a guided hike. Then, drive to Tamarindo for a couple of days of relaxation.
• Days 6, 7, & 8: Tamarindo. Enjoy several days on the beach. This area also offers some great day activities including a nearby beach of Playa Grande where the turtles comes to lay eggs en masse. This is called turtle arribadas. You can also visit the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge which is south of Tamarindo near Nosara.
• Day 9: Rio Tarcoles. Return to San Jose via Rio Tarcoles where the kids can go crocodile watching.
• Day 10: San Jose. Transfer to the airport and depart for home.
