Costa Rica's tourist visa
Nationals of a number of countries can travel to Costa Rica and receive a tourist visa for tourist travel upon arrival at the port of entry. Nationals from the following countries are allowed 90 days' stay without a visa:
- Western Europe
- Eastern Europe
- Ireland
- United Kingdom
- USA
- Canada
- Argentina
- Japan
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Iceland
- Panama
- Mexico
- Israel
- South Africa
Nationals from the following countries are allowed to stay for 30 days without a visa:
- Russia
- Venezuela
- Belize
- Honduras
- Jamaica
- Guatemala
- El Salvador
- Singapore
- China
Citizens of all nations are required to have a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the dates of a visitor's trip. The law requires that visitors carry passport at all times during a stay in Costa Rica.
Onward ticket
Visitors to Costa Rica officially need a ticket showing onward travel from Costa Rica before they are allowed to enter.
